? Maintenance Required Light
2000 Integra Gs-r
I wanted to know what are the usual reason that the maintenance required light usually comes on. Some people have told me that it just means you need an oil change but i just wanted to ask because i am not sure if they are right and i am not sure myself because my car is running just fine.

i figured that much but what kinda maintence might it be, i would think if it is something serious then the check engine light would come on but its not.

search for "maintence light" but in recent, and archives. its been asked, and covered plenty of times, and im sure its prolly in the FAQ's.
the "maintenence light" is a reminder at i belive 7500 miles to change your oil. under the steering coloum to the right of the dash is a small box, with a blue button, you put the key on, engine off.. and hold it 3 seconds and it will reset for another 7500 miles.

It's like built said, it's only a reminder light. It's runs off the odometer. It goes off every 7500 miles. It has no possible way of knowing how often you change your oil or what condition it is in. So everythime it goes off, you've got another 7500 miles.

then i would suggest every time you do change your oil.. to key on, engine off.. and reset that button, and your clock will start from there...

That isnt true. Dont spread what you dont know.
It just counts mileage, thats all it is. You could have done maintenence at 6500 miles, and it will still come on at 7500. Search.
