Default Tranny Problem

Ok so theres a grinding noise when I put the clutch in it stops
What is it?

Most likely the input shaft bearing is toast.

either your input shaft bearing or your throwout bearing. Both of which are replaceable.

It won't be your throw out bearing. If it was, you'd only hear the grinding when the clutch pedal is depressed.

It could be any of the bearings in your tranny. When you open it up, spin each one...the culprit will be obvious. I have rebuilt 5 honda transmissions, and each one had a different bearing that was bad.

Yeah, could also be clutch chatter. Anyway, best way to find out is to pull your tranny out and inspect everything from your clutch/pilot bearing, then move to your tranny.

Hope its nothing major...
