Default Replacing ISB in tranny

How hard is it to replace the input shaft bearing in the tranny on a 00 SI?

Also is the mainshaft bearing and the input shaft bearing the same thing?

Its not hard once you take apart the case on the tranny but its really for someone who knows a thing or 3 about trannies.

The mainshaft has two bearings. One is in the clutch housing and the other is on the end of the mainshaft.

Sometimes people like to make the distinction b/w the bearings by calling one the ISB and the other the mainshaft bearing.

Would these bearings being bad cause the tranny to whine and have some rattling noise while driving? The rattling noise goes away when the clutch is pushed in but the whine is always there. Most noticeable under acceleration.
