Default Steering wheel quick release hub, need suggestions.

Did a search, didn't come up with anything useful at all.

Basically I need a momo-type steering wheel quick release. I've taken a look at a few but all of them have a bit of play. Like If I put pressure down on the wheel it'll move like 2-3mm down, but if I release the pressure it'll just pop back up. I know technically that it's secure but I just don't like the fact that the hub has a bit of play in it.

Does anyone know of a quick release hub that will fit momo-type steering wheels that don't have any of play involved?

most if not all of the spline ones wil develop some play. i bought a http://www.nar-spec.com/ qr and it has play in it now. nothing real scary and nothing that i realy feel while driving. you may want to try the ball berring-type. those might be better at combating play.

Only problem with the ball-bearing types is that if the ball bearings fail, you can't steer. Make sure to search in the archives, I'm absolutely positive this has been covered before, as I did a search a few months ago myself and found a lot of useful info. Had I wound up going with the removable wheel, I would've chosen the LTB unit, FWIW.

I have this one in my Miata.....SPW QR hub....I chose that one for the ball bearing design and it retains the horn

FWIW, If you're sitting there tugging on the steering wheel looking for play, you'll never be satisfied because virtually all quick realeases have some degree of play. You don't notice it on track, and that's what counts.

So there was nothing useful at all in this thread:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=110231

or this one

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=270965

or these:

Seems like the same question...

As someone mentioned... if you're concerned about play while sitting in your driveway tugging on the steering wheel, then don't buy any of them. You won't notice it when you're on the track.

I've also got one of the quick releases that nar-spec sells.

Supposedly, the snapoff ones do not have any play.
It looks like the release pins are tapered, which they say is supposed
to fix the play problem.

has anyone here had any longterm experience with this?
