Is this camera setup legal for Autocrossing?
It's a regular CCTV camera mount modified to the middle console frame of my car. It is very stable, but I got a funny feeling that it may not be legal. Thanks guys.

Any strap that will keep the camera from flying around will do - I use an old belt.
The picture doesn't show how the mount attaches to the car - is it bolted firmly?

that's pretty cool, how did you get it on there? I'm not sure about legality, but as long as it won't fly off I'm sure you could get someone to give it a

Here is a pic of my camera setup...I use some old book bag strap and wrap it around the camera and mount. It not only passes tech but also minimizes the cameras vibration.
Well here's a direct quote from the SCCA rulebook: "All loose items, inside and outside the car, must be removed. Passenger's seat back and squab shall be secured. Video cameras must be securely mounted if installed."
I can't see how it's installed in the picture but if it doesn't really move around I don't see it being a problem. Unless the official is a dick.

It's bolted in real good with to the frame of the car. It's not going anywhere. If I need to put a strap on so be it.
a weight (camera) on the end of a pole isn't going to be the most efficient design as far as picture vibration goes. even if it is stable enough to be legal, the camera will probably wobble like hell as you drive.
