Default Anybody have any good.....

Ideas as to get a stripped nut off? It's got about a 1/4 inch to go and the bitch wont come off!! I tried to heat it up in hopes of it expanding to maybe catch a thread or 2, did'nt work! I tried putting a ratchet on and with a great downward force while turning it and that did'nt work!!!!!! This is the only thing standing in my way of completing my clutch and flywheel install. Any ideas are most helpful!

Can I ask what nut it is? Sears has those sockets that you hammer on and then use your ratchet to take it off.

Its the nut that holds the lower ball-joint together.

Grind it off, get the snap ring off the bottom of the balljoint. Hammer balljoint up until it pops out. Buy another balljoint [paid 27.99 for a DuraLast? at autozone ] and press or hammer the new on in. Replace snap ring [ comes with new balljoint ] and then bolt it all back together. - Darrell

Sounds like you forgot to remove the cotter pin holding the castle nut in position. I did that too. You will need to replace the lower ball joint or whatever bolt that nut threads onto.
