Clutch is smooth when car is cold but when driven/warmed up it squeeks ??
Why is it that in the mornings or the afternoons when I first hop into the car, the clutch is smooth during its full throw, but after some driving the clutch pedal starts to squeek and stick at the end of the throw becoming pretty squeeky and full of friction making it hard to drive well ??
hmmm mine is the opposite. In the morning it squeaks usually on the first take off but after its warmed up everything is fine. I know squeaking is normal in MANY clutches however, so you might be fine. Do you launch hard? what rpm?
How much is a good price for a dealer to take out of the tranny and lube the clutch fork ?? Im at 60k miles and have yet to change the clutch, is now a good time ?? No slipping whatsoever though.
I have the same symptoms on my car. When the clutch starts to squeek it seems likes its harder to drive smoothly. I have also noticed that my clutch is starting to slip at 4k rpms. Maybe it has something to do with the squeek?
this clutch squeek and weirdness is bothering me, should i just go ahead and change the clutch ?? How much is a clutch change ??

Not a ITR but a B16 with fidanza flywheel and a new ITR clutch/pp less than 5k ago.
Same thing, car is fine when cold and after about 45 min it squeeks and gets a little sticky when it is all the way near the floor, within 3/4 inch or so. ^^^ for a fix.

Im guessing the '97 type-r uses a hydraulic transmission. I would go ahead and put some new lubricant into the clutch piston shaft.
Perhaps get the clutch spring replaced? (could be, but u said it only happens when driving it)
Could be your throwout bearing or the spring came loose on the pressure plate forcing it on the clutch.

Goto Search and check the archives radio button and type in "Squeaky clutch" so many posts on it.
Good luck on the project,

More than likely we all have the same problem of clutch dust on the input shaft slide tube. A ITR does not have a duct cover on the lower end it actually has a rather large chunk of aluminum that is removable. If you pull it off and use an air blower you can blow a bunch of the dust out and lube up the slide tune with a dry film graphite compound that will not attract the dust like say wd40.
I would use a bit of brake clean to clean then the graphite but both can be used in aerosol form to make things easy.
