Default Hondata problem

I was trying to get my car to get tune and just installed my s200b with a basemap supposely for 440 injectors on 7 lbs. of boost. Everything started up fine, the red light on the blue box stayed lit. I drove it around the block a few times and everything seemed fine. I then get on the freeway, trying my best to stay out of boost. I think one time I barely hit boost when accelerating onto the freeway. I didn't make it a mile from my home and my car bogs like crazy.

Check engine light comes on so I exit the freeway and pop hood to check what's wrong. No smoke, no oil leaking, nothing. Then the car stalls. I start it up and it starts up fine. The check engine light goes away, so I try to accelerate and drive away. Car bogs everytime I accelerate and check engine light comes on. The check engine light isn't stored in the ecu so when I try to pull the code, I get nothing and the check engine light goes away when I restart the car.

Any idea what this could be? Could it be that my basemap was way too rich? I took the chip to the tuner and he tuned down the fuel 10% across the board.

ecu & motor setup please? It sounds like a "ghost" cel, which is usually something in the hondata that is turned off that the ecu doesn't have. ex. knock sensor or the such.
How long before you get it tuned anyhow?

ghost CEL is for o2 sensor and doesn't cause a car to bog down or anything.

when you get the CEL simply jump the harness then to see what it is.

Sounds like the problem i had, the guy that soldered the chip didnt do such a good job and mine did the same thing yours is doing. It left me stranded about 70 miles from my house, it would start up fine but as soon as i would take off the cel came on and it bogged very badly. I got it re-soldered and it has never done it again.

And you're sure the fuel and boost cut settings weren't enabled? Some tuners enable it during break-in of newly built motors

It's a p72 ecu on a stock gsr motor. I don't know if the fuel and boost cut was enable. It's only suppose to be a basemap for me to go to my tuner. I have it reschedule to tune next Tuesday. The highest I got my motor up to was 4000 rpm.

I can't pull the cel code. Once I turn off the motor and and try to pull the code, it disappears already and won't come on until I accelerate and then it will bog really bad and stall.

tthame1: So you were able to drive 70 miles to your tuner before it bogged really bad and left you stranded? My tuner is only about 15 miles away.

I just spoke to the place that I bought my hondata from, and they said they shipped it to me without unlocking the boost option. They said that I either drive to my tuner without hitting boost at all or bring my hondata to my tuner to unlock the boost. I remember accelerating onto the freeway and hit 1 lb. of boost before I backed off, then it started bogging.

Is this the what they called boost cut? I also called hondata and they said that with boost cut, it shouldn't bog.

Problem solved. I had my tuner enable the boost and I test drove it and hit boost a couple times and everything seems fine. It looks like I'll be able to get my car tune this Tuesday finally!
