Ghetto Water Intercooler
I am building a CRX and I am wanting to build a box up front for my intercooler and fill it with ice when I go to race. Alot of my V8 friends do it and they love it. I was thinking of even going as ghetto as an ice chest with the intercooler sealed in there with just the two pipes coming out. Just looking for a little feed back or if anyone has done it or seen a write up on it I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks

you wouldnt get any airflow to it then....i dont think the ice itself can dissapate the heat fast enough just sitting in there stationary....maybe if you wrapped a screen around the intercooler and put a bunch of ice up front.
Well it does not solely rely on ice. It is covered mainly with water then the ice is added ontop. Cooling the water. You also have to run a drain hose out the bottom of the car so that as it thaws you can run out the extra water.
