Default Good amp to power an Alpine 12"

Could this amp handle a 12" Alpine type R? I have read that the sub handles 50-500rms...and the amp is 350rms

I have read that the sub handles 50-500rms...and the amp is 350rms</TD></TR></TABLE>If it's a SWR1222D- DVC 2OHM you would have to wire the VCs in series for a 4OHM load and that amp puts out 200watts at 4OHMs, if it's a SWR1242D- DVC 4OHM you can wire the VCs in parallel, [much better] for a 2OHM load and the amp puts out 350watts into a 2OHM load, but both speakers are 500watts RMS and 1500watts peak. so I would say you are underpowering them by a lot, remmember it's better to be overpowered then underpowered, you realy need an amp that will give you at least 500watts RMS into whatever load you are running, you also need an amp that is stable at that load, [impedance] there some amps out there that are stable down to 1OHM so if you have the SWR1222D DVC 2OHM, you could wire the VCs in parallel for a 1OHM load. 94

its 2 ohm stable and you could have that sub running at 2 ohms, so then it'd be anywhere from 400 to 600 watts rms
