Default Ohms

Question about ohms. If I have 2 subs that have 4 ohms and i wire them parallel, i now have 8 ohms but if i wire them serial i still have 4, is that correct? Also, should the ohms on the amp match that of the combined subs?

It's nothing to do with the amp. It's all to do with the wiring. I can't seem to find the website with the ohm calculator though.

Are your subs dvc?

Ideally you want to get your amp down to 1ohm (if it is 1ohm stable )

I've got 2 Kicker Comp 05C12 12" 4-ohm subwoofers and a 1600W, bridgable 2 or 4 channel stereo amp, 2 ohm stereo stable 4X400W max. Will that amp successfully power the subs?
