Is THIS the dust ring?
Went out and bought new DA axles for the b16 swap in the CRX.
Some guys told me I need to remove the 'dust ring' to make the axle fit. Passenger side had no problem with the fitment, but for some reason the driver's side wasnt fitting. So...I removed this (pic below), and it fit fine. Did I just **** up, or did I do something right?

That looks like the axle cir-clip..
It is a metal ring you have to beat out with a hammer and chisel..

Hard to tell by your picture...
Turn on a light or something...

Is that the cir-clip off of the axle or what?

he's not talking about the axle seal.
the hub (dust) ring is the large piece, pictured next to the lighter. it just prys off. you took off the circlip as others pointed out. put that back on.

the dust ring is not completely necessary, i ran without one for a year (35k miles) no problems. put the locking clip back in asap though

Yeah thats what i though ick.....i didn't think that metal clip was the dust ring. Plus think about this too if you axle does move in and out just alittle (even if it doesn't pop out) you will leak tranny fluid. That metal ring locks the axle in the tranny to keep a good seal on the tranny.
