Alternator killed my car? Need troubleshooting help.
I recently had the voltage regulator malfunction on my B16A.
I also noticed that my Speedometer, Starter, A/F gauge, Oil Press gauge, and Odometer died. The cruise control doesn't enage anymore either.
When the voltage regulator on a alternator goes bad, does it destroy other electrical components too? Has anyone else had this happen to them that can verify?

have you checked all your your fuses? too much voltage can blow a ton of them it happened to me before and i had to replace4-5 of them at once.

That's the messed up part, all the fuses are fine!

I just applied power directly from the battery to the starter, and it works... So something must be fried elsewhere... god this sucks.

Yes I have a multimeter, and I'm running a 1998 P72 ECU.
I have some codes now. VSS malfunction, O2 heater malfunction (for both), and ELD high input. I replaced my VSS with a known good part, and speedo is still dead. When I drive the car hard, the engine sometimes loses power.

Thanks Chris! It was a blown 7.5a fuse. I also had a bad ground near my thermostat.
