Default Hondata s200 (extreme newbie)

Hi guys,

I a complete nutter when it comes to tuning. I recently installed my full Spoon exhaust system and custom CAI. I was told to tune it. I started to do some research and heard that Apexi V-afc was a good start. But the price is a little high for it's performance. People are telling me to go for Hondata as it is a little more expensive but has more power..

The thing is I am unaware of the whole OBD1, OBD2 thing. I have a RHD JDM EK Si-R from Japan with a b16a. I think it is OBD2? and I need to convert back to OBD1? - https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 - I think this guy sells OBD2 adapters?
Anyway could someone clarfiy that for me? pleassse??

Just one more question, will I benefit much from the Hondata s200? I am not planning to do much to my engine at the moment, maybe some internal work but that will not happen till the end of the year - next year.

Leave me some comments or ideas..

Thanks for reading this!!

1. yes your car is OBD2

2. yes there are adapters for OBD2 to OBD1

3. Hondata s200 won't give you God like power since all you have is a CAI & Exhaust. At most it will do is remove the speed governor, smoothes out the dips through out the power band(That's if the tuner knows what he is doing on the dyno)

My analysis: Don't waste your money on the s200 if you only have a exhaust and cai. Unless you have a high compression all motor setup or boosted setup, don't waste you money just yet.

Thanks for your opinion.
Money is not particularly a factor here, I mean under a certain price I will go to. But I just do not want to do things twice. I'd rather spend money and have it done properly.
Im not looking for huge amounts of power, just a little more.

How much are those adapters?
