Default Do you 3'' will be overkill for my setup?

Getting ready to install my little ihi turbo on my d16 and want to know if yall think a 3" downpipe would be overkill? I want the downpipe that's going to spool it up the fastest but this turbo is so small I feel a 2.5 might be more reasonable." Let me know yall's opinion is. I want my setup to be similar to a supercharger setup, no lag. I am going to be using a pretty high flowing manifold. I will take pics when I get home. Nick

Match it to whatever the exhaust port size on the turbo is. It will be a lot easier to bolt it up and fit everything that way.

If you want it to spool as fast as possible theni would do 3" for sure. It might not make any difference over a 2 1/2" but then again if its worth doing its worth doing right. and if you did 2 1/2" you would always be asking yourself if it would be better if you had only gone with 3"

you should run 3in. that way it is already there if you decide to put some bigger power out later on. and it will help your turbo spool a little faster
