Launching with 2 step full throttle launch FTL
i just got uberdata and i'm about to set the whole ecu up and i have the option of setting up at what rpm to set the 2 step option on.
i have never raced a car, and this is the first dohc swap i'm ever doing, i am either doing a gsr or a type r swap
so what would be the best rpm launch for the gsr?
how about the type r?????
sorry for the noobness, and when i searched all i could find was people asking how to setup uberdata 2step or what 2 step actually is
thanks for any help

oh and by the way this is for the street so please consider everyday traction
how much of a difference would it be at a drag strip?? i'm guessing a lot lower rpm since its a smoother road and will hook quicker lol i dunno

Just play around with it. Depending on what power you have will kind of determine where to set the 2 step. You dont want it too low where you will get wheel hop. I had mine set for 3500rpms, and that was waay too low for my turbo D16. It's up to 4700 now, and I havent had a chance to launch with that on warm tires. On cold ones, it just spins them but that doesnt mean much.

Now you're talking. There are alot of variables that will come into play. The only way to find the "sweet spot" is to actually go and try different RPM's. I do not like using a 2 step though w/ drag radials or street tires. Slick size will also play a roll in the RPM selection. Get your setup put together and let us know what size tire you will be running and we may be able to further assist you. Good luck.

First off, I don't like running DR's or street tires on the track anyway. When I use a 2step I have it set to a specific RPM because that is where I want the car to launch and not get to much/to little spin. With DR's and street tires most of the time it takes playing w/ the clutch/gas to get a good launch.

thanks for the tips but i dont understand why the same principal wouldnt apply to street tires as does slicks
i think the only difference would be better times, but either case the right rpm will get you a good launch am i right????
<--talks out of his *** cause he's never used anything but street tires
