is my engine Vtec or not ?
I have a 1998 civic ex 2 dour coupe and the engine is a D16Y8 and in my manual says thats an SOHC Vtec but my valve cover doesnt say and i dont feel it, so is it ?

Yes it is. It is a SOHC Vtec engine. You are not going to feel much power when u hit Vtec since it's not DOHC. Then again what do u expect for something that pumps out 127Hp stock.

check the code on the block...if it says d16y8 then it is. But it most likely is since its an EX but someone could have put a non-vtec motor in it
