The best way to lower boost on any motor is to take a pair of pliers and break fins off the turbo until your deisired level of boost is reached , and then if you ever want to raise it back up you can just go buy you another turbo, "IT'S THAT EASY", And as far as your spacer questions the best thing to do is to take out all your body bushing and throw them away, that should give you about an inch lower ride, then you can loosen your axles and lower it another 2 inches. if you really want it low you can put wheel barrell tires and wheels on it. And by the way that would look sweet. PIMP IT OUT *****H

My wastegate opens at around 9 psi. I mean you should be able to run that boost on your car its not like its a huge turbo!!!

dont bother with an fmu (only good for 6-7 psi roughly) or the 2g pump....get a walbro 255 or use your stocker, and get uberdata or at least a vafc with 450s...and to lower your boost get a new actuator since lengthening the actuator rod or using spacers will give you more lag

You shouldn't need anything to run 9 psi safely. It is the stock boost on the car and why would you want to go lower than that?

this is going onto a d16y8 and for right now i only want to run 6 psi..Im probably just gonna try using a different wastegate actuator and the 2g pump for now.

if you have a threaded waste gate rod, lengthen it. the longer the rod the lower the boost. same holds true to raise the boost. shorten the rod to raise the boost. thats how we used to do it on the buicks. we would set them static (no boost controller) to 12 psi then put a bleed valve on it to raise it.

how about the spacer method? my friend told me to put spacers between the wastegate actuator mount and the turbo itself. Im just not sure if it raises it or lowers the boost.

well look at it. if it makes the actuator closer, in effect it is shortening the rod. well thats how i would take it. I MAY BE WRONG.

you can pt som tiny washers uner the actuators mount, also u can add like some sort of carb return spring to pull it shut more, and also make sure u run the vac line to right near close to the turbo, it will help a lil also.

putting spacers will increase the boost. it will put tension on the actuator rod. the only way to lower boost is to rmeove the actuator all together and use a light spring as mentioned or to make the actuator arm adjustable, but this will increase lag big time.
i woudl go with the carb return spring idea. it worked well for me.
