FINALLY got the Prelude tuned
Alright, so after driving my car untuned for over a year, I finally got the cash togeather to get it tuned. This is my current setup:
=Greddy Turbo Kit (including
=Greddy TD05/TD06H-18G Turbo w/ internal wastegate
=Greddy Cast SUS Manifold
=Greddy Air Intake
=Greddy 31v Front-Mount Intercooler
=HKS Super Sequential Blow-Off Valve
=2.5" Downpipe
=3" Flex Pipe
=3" Test Pipe
=3" Mandral Bent Catback Exhaust
=Hondata s100 with boost
=RC 550CC injectors
=Magnaflow Muffler
=ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate w/ Hybrid Street Disc Clutch Kit
=ACT Streetlite 11.9 lb. Flywheel
=DC Sports Short Shift Adapter
=NGK Spark Plugs
I made 220WHP and 210WTQ untuned with the Greddy blue box at 7 psi. It was tuned today, conservative, at 9 psi.
I know I'm gonna get flamed for running 9 psi on a stock H22, but keep in mind this is the Greddy 18G turbo, which is quite a bit smaller then most boosted H22s.
At 7 PSI, they couldn't get over 225WHP, and I wasn't about to pay this much for an extra 5WHP. So we went up to 9 psi, the car ran great, no pinging and no detontation on the dyno. Anyway, and comments would be great. Here are the pics:

It's Hondata S100. What's wrong with the ARF? It stays between 11-12 almost the entire time.

low #'s if u ask me
my buddy did 182 whp with just bolt ons on his VTEC prelude SH
anyways, i am guessing u have still timing to take off that will give u the power u missin

Re: (USDM 4G VTEC)
AFR should be pretty smooth. If youw atch the power output on the dyno graph, you can seee how it ouwld have been smoother if the afr had been more consistant. NOt that its a big deal. Hope the car is fun!

damn nice homez, pretty good numbers for that small of a turbo. and i dont see how its low numbers, stock is 165, and now your almost 100 WHP over that on just a greddy kit at 9 psi? pretty damn good if you ask me.

A little lean for my tastes, but if it puts down 260whp, that's awesome.

Re: FINALLY got the Prelude tuned (Finest)
i'd recommend upgrading to the skunk2 intake manifold.
on of the cars i tuned make 254whp @ 5psi on a revhard turbo kit, stock motor, the 440s maxed out, but the intake manifold made an amazing power increase.

i would definately agree to that statement
i would still think the afr could be smoother

I agree, but I am biased being an EVO owner who is used to having my car run pig rich.

Well if you look at it, it is fairly smooth. The graph is just a much closer scale than most that are posted on here. Again, it says between 11-12 almost the enitre time.

What are you talking about 11s is rich. definitely agree that if you cleaned up the whole A/F line and leaned it out to around 12:1 you would pick some more ponies, but thats still not bad for an 18G turbo

The Greddy 18G turbo for the Prelude has always run a bit hot from my experience, and has been a bit on the small side, especially on the exhaust trim and exducer on the Greddy 18G to support very large power. Though the compressor is rather healthy.

This is true. The upside however, is that the turbo has reached 9 psi by 3,000 RPM

Well, carb conn does have a pretty high labor/dyno charge. I'm not sure how much it was for just the tunning because I got some other stuff done at the same time, but they cut me a good deal considering I've spent like $10k there.

I said for "my tastes". Being that he's still on a stock motor, I'd like keep it more conservative to be more reliable. The ringlands on the H22 stock pistons are prone to break with just the slightest of detonation. Just what I've experience, that is all.

Besides the small-size turbo, it actually makes me miss my old '98 Prelude....hmm not really.... but nice numbers for a nice ride by the way.

Re: FINALLY got the Prelude tuned (NVturbo)
I don't mean to be rude but why in the hell did you let the guys at carb connection touch yourt car? They don't know how to tune ****. they blew up my h22! never had it tuned correctly after taking my car there several times. I would take it down to ground zero and let them clean up your fuel map and do it right. I have personally seen carb conn blow up several motors and they don't even take responsibility.
