Default safe to run without a BOV?

we're installing a Greddy turbo kit on my friends RSX TypeS. The HKS SSQ hasnt came in yet. Is it safe to drive around without a BOV??

As long as you don't see more than 5 PSI or so. The turbine can spin above 100,000 RPM at times. You don't want it to snap back at that speed.

Compressor surge is never your friend..even at 2-3 psi it will hurt your turbo.. I wouldnt run the car w/o the BOV.

agreed...peterk was running his car w/o one at first and ended up w/ a bad turbo. Unless you stay in vac, then i think it's ok

If you do drive it around just when you let off the gas let off slowly.....That way the pressure in the system can be reduced slowly by the engine sucking in the air.

you can run it w/o a bov but more than 2 psi can potentially damage it so play it safe and wait till you get it.

Just get a cheap $30 bov from ebay.. Thats what I am running and it works perfectly..
