Default Will my motor be okay?

I have a 94 GSR with 116k miles on it. It runs perfect right now. I have a set of Toda Spec Bs, the valve train, cam gears, timing belt, new water pump, tensioner pulley, type r oil pump, vafc, chipped p28. Do i need to replace my bearings in the block? Or should it be fine to rev up to 9500?

IMO i wouldn't risk taking a motor with 100K+ to 9500RPM.....i say 85000 tops....9500 really puts a load on your engine - unless you rebuild it.....But then again - its a honda/acura so i guess it's really your choice. Good luck though - hope you can do it safely

I think I'm going to save and send a used GSR block out to exospeed and have them re build it will all oem parts and CTR pistons

I don't think I will go that high but if I'm going to be shifting around 8500 with my spec Bs (thats what I shifted at in my 99 SI that had spec Bs) and I miss a gear, I want to make sure I'll be okay. I wouldn't be shifting at 9500 on purpose.

If you want to put the motor through a bit more stress than reg driving, you have to consider the wear and tear of the current engine now. You say it has about 110K miles and that can be a good motor still or it can be on its way out. The main parts that would fail will be the bearings and rings after so many miles. Honda is pretty good with their motors so these things dont usually fail until 200K+ miles and more for a well taken cared of motor.

If you plan on rebuilding the block, all our block packages replace all the wear and tear parts anyways. Bearings, oil pump, rings, and main seal. we also do the proper machine work to prep the block for optimum performance for the pistons to fit perfectly in the cylinders and the rings to seal properly. Crank is also freshly micropolished before the bearings are put on it and measured.

my buddy ran the same setup and it is CRAZY FAST. I'll just have the motor clayed, it won't be a problem. So many people have been okay with it. Just long as you take care of your motor

12.9:1 compression with a GSR head. There is no need to run that much compression on the street.

No problem son. You'll learn from experience. Its a hard lesson, but sometimes its whats needed for some people.
