well, compliments of ups, they have lost my b20 bare block for a few days and when I finally recieved it was all banged up and to make matters any worse the main caps were all lost. Well, I have access to extra b20 main caps and I know that they will need to be machined. Any way, how many have done this and gotten away with just a align hone aor did you have to get it align bored first. This is costing waaayyyyy too much for this block, but unfortunately I dont have many options right now.

 

What clearances do you currently have?

 

Have it line bored. Then you will have to do some measuring for your bearing tolerances.

 

tonight i should be able to see how close it is. Right now im just trying to get some pics of the block to send to UPS for my claim. Then I can get it back to my machine shop and get it measured up.

 

well, we put the caps on and they are VERY close. I have a good feeling that I will be able to get away with just a line hone. I could barely get a finger nail onunder the caps. Almost completely flush. I will know the exactly how outta round the mains are later today when My guy calls back. We were gunna get some more opinions from other people.
