Default VTEC wired, but no VTEC

I wired up the vtec solenoid and the vtec oil pressure on my crx. I take it for a spin, I have no check engine light. I get on it. no vtec, I cruise it slowly, go to 5000rpms. no vtec. heres some pics of what i did. I wired up the A8 and B5 . I have plenty of oil in the motor. anyone have any ideas?

vtec needs only, rpm, oil pressure, speed, water temp. check these.

if you changed the cable but the speedo still doesnt work, one of the ends of the cable isn't plugged in right. the gauge cluster is mechanical and almost never goes bad.

you will have to buy the whole cable. they just don't sell the boot. mine is missing the boot also and i tried to get just that, but they said that i had to buy the whole cable......its not that expensive though.

make sure the clip is in the right place. CHECK ALL GROUNDS....no CEL doesn't mean no ecu codes....go and check it out.....

yea theres a minimum speed you need to be traveling at for the vtec to come on.

UPDATE!

I got a new speedometer cable ($40), installed it, ran it, no CEL, MAD VTEC. now I got a CODE 6, coolant temp sensor. If the CEL light comes on, I have no vtec. is this sensor the one below the dist closer to the front of the head (w/ 2 wires comin out)? If I turn off the car then start it up again, I got vtec. can someone comfirm with me cuz im 99.9% sure this is the case.

When I had a code six it reffered to the single prong under the dizzy. It's kinda hard to see. but look and you'll find it. My wires had oil built up on them from my leaky d16 and it killed the wire. So I just fixed that and I had no code and vtec again. Maybe yours just popped off.

I dont think that causes a code. I believe that sender is for the temp gauge on the cluster (if it unplugged/broken, the gauge wont register). The 2 wire connector is the one you will want to look at.

did you ground the right wire (green ) on the oil pressure switch. If you got them confused you fried the switch or the ECU

its grounded fine. I didnt mess with any of that . the motor came out of my old black crx and went into the white one. the only wiring done was the 2 wires into the ecu. whats wierd on my situation is that the CEL will come on , then if i shut it off then back on it doesnt come back and the car drives REALLY good. lol. im just doin that if the CEL comes on.
