some guys make a mold and use it in a press. make the top half and the bottom half. put the bottom piece in, put the tubing in, then then top piece. then press the top to the bottom

Vice with special jaw setup, also a whole lot of hammer forming to get it spot on.

Thanks guys . I use all those . Mild steel is cool but when doing SS it's a different story . The tube gets all jacked up . Man that's alot of money too .

Try using a brass hammer or a plastic type rubber

I just took a flange cut off one of the ports and then cut the flange in half. Took a little extra material off so you can clamp down a little more (needed due to material springing back). Welded the 2 pieces of flange in a dedicated vise and just clamp away. Works great.

dosent bmc . advertiser here , sell a flange that has a circle on one side and the oval port on the other .. so no squishing is needed .. fits right in .. looks very good and fairly inexpensive for the quality

man you guys are to high tech(ha ha) for me .I just lay the tube down on the bench and hit the end of it with a rubber hammer. And it fits perfect every time.Besides you have to knock it out in the flange and tack it anyway.
