B&M short shifter
I just put in a B&M short shifter a few weeks back and now it squeaks a bit when i take it or put it into a certain gear. At first i thought i didn't lube it up enough so i pt some more on, didn't work. Is it bad that its making that screeching noise or is it just a nu sense???
im not sure about your squeaking problem, maybe old dry shift linkage rubber bushings, but i know that i had a b&m shifter and i didnt really like it, i bought a skunk2 and its much better, just to let you know
i have a Skunk2 SS with a stock exhaust.
If it's hitting the exhaust buy a cheap hanger from autozone that's a little longer than the stock one to drop the exhaust piping down a little bit.
I have one that is basically a piece of threaded rubber with several holes in it and now i'm squeak-free

i also had a B&M ss, along with some other generic one....they both broke, the B&M at the threads the other one at the ball joint
....so just to keep in mind you might need to get another SS later. So far the Skunk2 has been great

I replaced the bushing so i dont think thats the problem and its not hitting the exhaust so that cant be the problem. Do you think it needs lubed some more ?? So far the B&M ss hasnt gave me any problems but the damn squeaks from 3rd to 4th gear.
I have a B&M (for 3-4 years now) and I've never had a problem really other than a small rattle which I promptly fixed... it happened in year 2 of ownership... I just fixed up the o-rings and the rattle was gone. so if you have a squeak, it's install error prolly
I've had a B&M shifter in all three Honda's I've owned. The first one didn't make any noise at all, but but subsequent ones have squeaked ever so slightly. It's never bothered me so I haven't worried about it. No long term problems with any of the shifters either.

when u lubed it up, did you take it all the way apart and then put lube all over the bottom of it and around the ball part then put the cover back on it?

order some Prothane Motion Control Grease from summitracing.com
http://store.summitracing.com/...h.asp
Its a grease made only by them used to lube there bushings, like Lower Control Arm or Sway Bar bushings so they don't squeak.
You may want to drive around with the center console for a couple of days so you can wipe as much of the old grease out (unless you want to get under the car and take it apart again)? Once the shifter is free of the old grease, use a tube of that stuff and lube the ball up. That $hit is mad thick and sticky so don't get it on your hands unless you have lava soap to wash up after. **my B/M shifter vibrated whenever i was off the throttle until i lubed it with that grease*
