Common problems with idling is the IAC (Idle Air Control Motor). It's on the back of the intake manifold and often times they are damaged when engines are taken out or shipped. I've seen this problem more than once and experienced it myself with my LS swap. Check to see if the housing where on the motor of the IAC is damaged, cracked, or if the connector is bad. If none of these things are present, trace the wires that are connected to the IAC and see if any are damaged. If you still cannot find anything, post back.

im experiencing the same problem as you right now.

i just did a B16A swap. my car idles and 3-3500k when cold and 2-2500 when warmed up.

ive replaced all vacuum lines, swapped in a new IAC, checked the FIT valve, put new TB gasket on, put a new intake mani gasket, checked the throttle cable tension, replaced the PCV for the hell of it, checked butterfly on TB for full closure, bled the coolant several times.

i still have the same problem after all of this.

its starting to really **** me off because i cant find the issue.

so any help to this would be great.

well bleed your coolant first and see if that fixes it. then check the timy set screw where the throttle rotor sits. some times it needs to be turned 1 turn or so. its a 6mm allen key you use to adjust it.

If your idle likes to settle to 1500 rpm when the engine is warmed up, it sounds like the throttle is being held open or the throttle stop screw has been messed with. If the TPS was indicating a closed throttle (<.49v), but there was a vacuum leak present, your idle would hunt around. So it sounds like the throttle stop screw may have been messed with and has put the TPS on the line between indicating closed/open throttle which explains the hunting and why it settles to 1500 rpm.

What is your TPS voltage?

Did you try to clean off the IACV yet? I had the same problem (idled at lights between 800 and 1600 rpm)

I went to autozone and picked up a can of TB cleaner. You could see all the **** come right off of it. Popped it back on, took the car a few minutes to turn over, but it fixed it.

It's a super tight fit. 12mm bolts. 1/2" works too. I'd reccomend using a wrench because unless you have a super-small ratchet you're going to have some issues.
