Battery question

On the positive side of the terminal, one goes to the fusebox, and one goes where? A friend told me to ground it but wtf? Ground a positive battery terminal?

Starter - there is a nut on the starter itself, that the wire connects to and then is covered by a rubber boot.
(I took mine off yesterday)
