Default N1 Question

I'm looking at a used N1 muffler and it says it is the Turbo one but he was using it on a NA Porsche. Will it work ok on my NA Accord? Also would you buy a used muffler or should I spend the money and go for a new one?

it will work...but im guess since its a turbo muffler you would need to run 3inchs piping...which equals in a lose of some power...but if your not too worried about it then go for it....but if u got the monet i would get a new one

Ok I don't really want 3" piping I want 2.25". I have been looking at a new one but really don't want to spend a whole lot more to get piping and the muffler than I would on a Apexi WS cat-back but I like the N1 muffler so it looks like I'm going to have to. I would like to gain power from this not loose it so I don't think 3" will work for me. How much do you guys think it would cost me to get a muffler shop to weld the muffler to the piping and weld the hangers and flanges onto the piping from Kteller? I'm thinking I will have to spend around $400 on the piping and muffler and then whatever it costs to get it all welded together.

I have about narrowed it down to a N1 with either custom bent piping or most likely KTeller piping or a WS or WSII I like the WS better than the II but it isn't stainless steel. I like the N1 look a lot which is something I can't say about the WS and especially not the WSII. I don't want something that will wake everyone in the neighbor hood up if I drive it at night which it sounds like the N1 may but it sounds like it is a quality exhaust and I like how it looks a lot. A guy that lives 2 houses down has a look a like on his Civic and you can literally hear that thing inside the house when he is 2 blocks away and it still sounds very loud. From what I have heard the real N1 isn't this bad and I'm pretty sure his is just a look a like. I am afraid the WS will be too quiet for my tastes though as I don't want it to sound like stock I want to be able to hear it just don't want it to wake everyone up if I drive at night at normal rpms don't mind if it gets a little loud when I get on roads where I rev it higher.

EXmag...mines coming on monday....

personaly, i dont think canister style mufflers look good on accords.....a muffler is a muffler, it just depends on the inlet size, and wether its straight though or baffeleld

I guess I'm the opposite I really like the look of the canister style mufflers on the Accord angles slightly up to the right.

If I order Ktellers 2.25" piping is the stainless worth the extra money? I'm thinking it is but not really sure? How much should it cost to get the hangers welded onto the pipe? The local shop I called said he thought about $50 to get the muffler welded on then goes up from there but I'm not sure that includes welding the hangers on.

stainless is worth it......remember they also have to weld on the flanges in addition ot the hangars....honestly, more than like $75 for them to do a GOOD weld job is overpriced

Ok thanks. I know a guy that has done some welding for me in the past on my motorcycles and is my uncles dad and his half brother both know how to weld and have a welder so I may see if they will do it. I have a feeling his dad would if he has time and think his brother probably would cheap and may free but I'm not sure if I want to have him do it as he has only been welding a year or two and don't know if his dad will have time. I'm also not sure how hard it would be to figure out where the hangers need to be welded onto and at what angle. How hard is it to get the muffler welded on at a slight upward angle to the right? I have been considering a mig welder so I may buy it and practice some and then attempt it but I'm really not sure I want to attempt it since I don't really have much experience with welders although everyone says mig is easy.

on the style of the muffler, i like the canister style, if ur going for sumthing really racey looking...i personally am going for sumthing more street oreiented, so im goiong for s tanabe hyper medalion, i heard those r pretty loud for the canister style exhuast(out of WSII and greddy SP, i only personally heasrd a SP on aintegra, never herad the WS)...but if u really like the canister look, go for it...i dunt think this post helps much, just wunna put my opinion up

Loud is what I really don't want and I know the N1 is a little loud just not sure how loud. Anyone know the db limit on them? I really am afraid I will get this then end up having to take it off because of the noise and have wasted the $200 on it. I mean I don't want to be heard when I'm a block away by someone inside there house. Hell driving up the driveway which is right next to the neighbors house I really don't want it to be loud enough to wake them up at night but then again about any noise wakes them up I just don't really want to wake everyone up going up the road. My thought is just don't get on the gas hard until you get away from the houses but I really don't know how it sounds when in the 2-3k rpm range. I know I have Flowmasters on my truck that the neighbors don't like as they say they are too loud and you can feel them inside the house but they arnt too bad I don't really want sometime a lot louder than those. Is the N1 loud as in will set car alarms off or is it just louder than stock? I like the look of the canister style mufflers a lot and realize they are louder but I'm trying to find one that isn't too loud. I would rather just keep my stock muffler over most of the other styles except I figure if I have 2.25" piping it is a waste to put the stock muffler back on.

Why not buy full polished skunk2, that apexi is made for atleast three hundred hp, I really cant vouch for skunk2 on my 01 accord, but on my prelude I had skunk2 exhaust for three years amungst other products, would never get the coilovers though./

i said before though...the n1 is loud, its gonna be loud and raspy on the accord if im not mistaken...the n1 youre probably talking about is the new turbo inlet one...meaning that the exhaust can has a sorta turbine type deal working inside the muffler...i honestly dont remember how its set up but i dont think its meant for turbo...i could be wrong, anyways the loudness...it will be loud. i just say you search on google for exhaust sounds or something on different cars...i remember way back in the day there use to be a site called something like hearmyexhaust.com or some ****, but it was useful...i think its no more now

Yup heard about that site and it is no more. I don't want a Skunk2 system as it seems like a Apexi N1 look alike to me and I would rather have the N1 plus the neighbors is way way too loud as I said and I don't want something that sounds like that. I'm leaning towards the WS or WS II now I really like the WS look a lot better but it isn't all stainless steel which the WSII doesn't look like it is from the pictures but it is supposed to be. Is it worth it to have the crappy looking one for the stainless steel piping? I know lots of you guys love them but I think they are ugly but I guess that is ok.

IMO opinion, an N1 welded on to pipping is going to be very loud, trust me you might need to run a resonator.

Also it makes sure that the old lady behind you, can hear when vtec opens up lol,
In other words its f' ing load man lol

Is the WS louder than stock? I don't want something extremely loud but when I get on the gas hard I would like to be able to hear it and would like something louder than stock and definately a lot deeper sounding.
