crank shaft pully bolt aaaaa!
ok im doing a mini me swap and i have to change the timing belt , but i cant get the crank shaft pully bolt off iv tried air tools, a swing arm, wd 40 does anyone know a trick to get this damn thing off ?
Soak the bitch in PB Blaster, have someone stand on the brakes while the car is in 5th gear, and use a breaker bar with cheater pipe (6-8ft total), and hang from the end of the bar. It will come loose.
if air tools didnt work you can try to wedge something in to the fly wheel so that the pulley wont spin or you could go buy a crank pulley remove tool for 40 buck. thats all i can think of. hope this helps
ok well the motor is out of the car im building it before i put it in, and i tried puttin a screw driver in the fly wheel and i snaped the screw driver in half
i stabelized the motor then i soaked it in wd-40 then i put a swing arm on it and jumped on the bitch and that **** still wont come off

Nope.
Since the motor is out of the car and you can't get the screwdriver trick to work, either get the Moroso crank pulley holder or put some rope in one cylinder so that the piston pushes against it (on the compression stroke so that the valves are closed). Soaking it in PB Blaster should help - WD40 does **** compared to this stuff. Heating it up with a torch and then taking a punch, or something, to deadblow against the bolt may help. Try to tighten it first, then loosen it.

I took off my crank pulley a couple of times with the motor out of the car.
Just get the crank pulley holder tool that goes onto a 1/2" drive breaker bar. Its like $15, but I unfortunately cant remember where I got it (online). It's kinda like a bit or a socket that, combined with a breaker bar, does the same job as the much more expensive "real" crank pulley holder. If you can't find it, borrow a pulley holder.
Brace the pulley holder against the ground, on the left side of the pulley. Grab the pulley bolt with another breaker bar on, on the left of the pulley, about 30 degrees above the one that's holding the pulley, so you can step on the breaker bar and break the bolt free. Feel free to use a bigass cheater bar to get the necessary torque.

place a longer open end bar ( like a metal pipe) on to the breaking bar. so you can get more toqure on the bolt. i had to do this saturday on a crank pulley. that has never been changed in 100K. and do like EE_Chris chris said. that should work. but you may need to people on it and one person to hold the stand so that it does not move.
with the exception of Luserkid, those are the worst ideas ive heard EVER!
look at my sig for my thread on how to take the bitch out right and safely!

I think we need a "How To" on putting the crank pulley back on correctly. I've never had any problems getting any crank pulley off. I just removed mine last night and all I had was the crank pulley holder and a 3/4" ratchet that was about 12" long.
Find the most powerful impact wrench you have available. Spray the bolt with pentrating oil. Alternate between loosening and tightening the bolt in short bursts. It will come loose after several of the tightening/loosening sequences. No need for the crankshaft pulley tool. The impact wrench is all you need.
