I just got my car back from the shop and the crank balancer fell off
So I got my car back from the shop for doing an engine swap and I was about 20 miles away from the shop when THUNK. I heard a loud noise from my engine bay and my friend behind me saw sparks under my car. I pulled over to the side of the road and tried to see what happened but I couldn't see **** because it was dark. The shop towed the car back to their shop and told me the alternator belt broke and the crank balancer fell off. So if the crank balancer falls off does that mean my engine is fucked up?
Thanks for the help,

I know what locktite is, but I don't understand why you would use it on the crank pulley bolt.

If you torque everything correctly you don't need loctite.

If you torque the crank pulley bolt correctly you don't need loctite. There's other bolts that need loctite. The Helm book tells you which ones...

The Helms manual tells you to clean the crank and pulley. Then you are supposed to put oil on the threads of the bolt and between the washer and head of the bolt. You reinstall the crank pulley and bolt and torque it properly.
If you put oil on the threads how is loctite even going to work??

the reason you put oil on the bolt is so you dont bind up and get false torque numbers pretty much any lube will do and in that case loctite is a lube as long as the bolt aint dry
