first i apologize if this Topic doesn't belong here.... But i was Surfin, Lookin at Car specs and ****, and i found something that confused me...Is Honda the Only car manufactering company that uses vtec. i was lookin at the Mazdaspeed, and their stats told me that the motor had a 1.8 turbocharged Vtec motor. I thought that Honda was the creator of Vtec, or Was it a Typo... Let me know because this is really bothering me

im not 100% sure but ive heard of the celica's had v-tec in the gt-s model or one of em like i said not 100% on that.

 

vtec is trademarked. But, other companies have similar tech.

The Celica uses VVTI. Its does more or less the same thing as vtec.

Alot of companies use a "vtec" like system of changing cam timing. Porsche Varioscam, Toyota VVTI, Honda VTEC, Rover VVC, BMW Vanos, Nissan VVL, Mitsubishi MIVEC. Almost every company i can think of has a vtec like system, from Ford to Ferrari.

yeah but Mazda's Site had the word VTEC, not vvti or anything like that...if anyone has links to learn more about the mazda speed, let me know, bc this is really bugging me, that Mazda would use a Honda Name for their parts
