theres a alternator fuse in the fuse panel under the dash not sure of it location but had this problem before just check them all fuses under the dash that should be it.
I checked all the fuses on the fuse pannel under the dash, all are good unless the alternator one is seperate somewhere.... I also checked all the fuses in the under hood panel.
anything else I can ground besides the thermostat grounds? like any other wires in the harness I should be able to ground?

Try taking the neg. side of the coil and jump it to ground with the key on the coil should spark every time you touch it to ground.
if it ran before it has to be the wiring its easy to confuse the wiring like the pin locations some diagrams show A1 A2 A3 side to side instead of top to bottom so double check it

thermostat, tranny and valve cover. I checked with an ohm-meter lots of different places on the block for continuity to the - battery terminal and everything was like less than 1 ohm....same thing with the ground wires at the ecu.
