---Sunk Sleeve---
Here's my Q's. We dynoed my girlfriends setup not too long ago on a gsr 2.1 litre and blew the he
ad gasket after the dyno session, well come to find out a sleeve sank very slightly about 1.5 thousanths. Is it exceptable to replace gasket and run again with indian sealer and bar's leak or tear down and resleeve. Opinions welcome.

I was thinkin about decking it, but if it doesnt shift or sink any more it should seal ok with enough torque on the studs. < "I'm hoping". Plus decking properly would require disassemble which is alot of down time and labor and she wont make nopi chick. Also if I was to deck it I would just have it resleeved at manufactures cost.
It's a golden eagle block, Please don't raise hell and flame the **** out of the company. It doesn't help my problem in any way.

You can't just torque the head studs more. You just paid all of that money to have it sleeved, don't ghetto rig now....know what I mean. It will suck to have the downtime after all of the waiting but.... take the motor back. This happened to the h22 block of another local shop owners personal project. It had to be resleeved. The machinist had sleeved tons of blocks, unfortunately **** happens sometimes. The question now is will he back up his work. Sorry to hear about the trouble.

Why would we flame the sh*t out of GE, they do good work and have many success stories. Also, I am pretty sure GE warranties their blocks against their sleeves sinking. Before you try to do any work yourself, I would talk to GE and see what they have to say.

man, we r have n the same problem with one of our golden eagle sleeved blocks. one of the sleeves sunk a little which allowed coolant to get into the oil ,therefore thinning it out give n us less oil pressure due to the mixture of the water and the oil. we've been have n oil problems with this block for the longest time and figured out that the sleeve dropped cuz we put compressed air down the cylinder and found out this was the problem.
we called up golden eagle and they said they r not gonna replace the block. WTF!!!!!! i know there's a few golden eagle reps in here, so whats the deal about this. the motor hasnt even seen alot of miles. only went to the dyno and back. car actually spun bearings on the dyno due to the low oil pressure which resulted from the dropped sleeve. How r u GE people not gonnna warranty this??????

If it's a GE sleeve just send it back they will inspect the block and if it's the sleeves then Vince will take care of it right away and fast service! I've had 3 blocks that went in for warranty and came back with all brand new ge hd sleeves.

What killed your bearings was the coolant mixing with your oil and eating your engine bearings. Coolant chews the crap out of engine bearings, clearances are increased, oil pressure drops and rod bearings are spun...

Well if the gasket goes again it wont immediately destroy everything. There's signs. smoke from exhaust, coolant mixing with oil, etc. My biggest concern is being able to make nopi chick. We were really looking foward to making this event. So I'm just curious if anyone has made 1.5 thou drop work before. After nopi I will disassemble and send it in to get warrantied. My other concern was people say there's alot of downtime on the inspection of the blocks. This doesnt make sense because it's a pretty straight foward deal. You know when u have done a poor installation and didnt press it correctly. I had eddie come down from RS machine and he was nice enough to mic it for me and he explained in detail what was going on. With no conflict of interest he told me it was faulty installation. Another thing that kills me about this is even if G.E warranties the block, I still get to pay for all that labor for installation of everything all over again, who is gonna reimburst me for that? No matter what happens I want to thank Eugene and Aron from "PROSTREET", in all honesty this whole project would have failed without the help and support of these two guys. I will never be able to put into words what these two have done for me. Oh, I'm from spanaway, Washington< ghetto!

Off topis but are those the 2 guys from that mtv street racing show ?
But like everyone else said, don't rush the job, do it right, get the blocked fixed or else you might really pay in the long run
