first, its a 4g63....not a honda engine...but i'm looking for anyone with experience to respond.

your opinions please. i'm guessing detonation caused the head to lift...which gave the coolant a path to the sealing ring on the headgasket.

felpro headgasket...pics of possible failure. i'm guessing i got a little too aggressive with the alcohol...

You're using a shitty composite felpro gasket. Get a MLS gasket and you won't have this problem.

i bought the engine this way...and i'm guessing its most definitely the gasket.

interesting note...

a friend of mine swears by these...since the gasket is the weakest link...its an easy way to keep the rest of the motor intact.

that is dumb....get a good gasket and be problem free......(assuming you're not over the engines capabilities....but 4g63's are pretty stout )
