b16 head with gsr? or just plain ol gsr?
hey i'm a newb with b motors i admit it... i've been with the d for a bit and got a deal for a gsr swap for 500 and heard that a b16 head would be good mated with the gsr block...
i going to build the bottom end with itr parts...
if i am going with the gsr head i'd go with jdm itr pistons, ctr intake cam w/ itr exhaust and itr valve train...
if b16 head... ctr pistons with ctr cams and itr valve train...
school me... thanks

Go withthe first choice. it will be quick and streetable. don't use the CTR pistons, the compression ratio will be too much unless you are going to work over the motor to use it and buy Hondata or the like.
well lets see, i have a gsr head, from JG and it clears fine.and i run CTR 25 over i run all motor LS vtec with the b18 a block and GSR head. i went with the GSR becuz it was a bigger head and LS becuz it had a bigger displacement.

if you run the b16 head on the b18c1 bottom end you will be lowering your compression about .5 i believe
ctr pistons with this combo work good
but remember more compression=more torque
so right off the bat you will be loosing power putting that head on unless you run some higher compression pistons

or mill the head and run a thinner head gasket, just another option
