Thanks again Katman.

FYI, CTR piston + P72 head + pump gas = blown up engine.

what would you say would work kchungb17a? for a 95 GSR head with 93 octane in it.

I Got B18C1 with PR3 pistons in the stock P72 Head. Great combo.

what is your compression ratio? how much horse power did you get? and did you do anything else to it?

i just did a compression ratio calculation. how does, a JDM ITR piston with a GSR rod, 1 layer of headgasket thickness with GSR block and GSR head w/ after market Ferrea valve train, sound to you all?

thats a 11.06:1 c/r

What CR calc is giving you the 11.06:1? The CR calc I'm using shows 11.92 with the specs you gave (assuming 81mm bore and that the Ferrea valves do not change CR; the CR goes up with larger bore size).

My CR calculator:
http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/cr-calculator.htm (once again, thanks to Katman)

11.92 might be a bit too high for pump gas. Not impossible if you run a good custom ECU tune, but on a stock ECU, it might be iffy. Remember that the GSR P72 head has a smaller combustion chamber than the ITR/CTR/PR3 so the compression ratio will be higher than the ITR/CTR spec head.

If you're running a stock ECU and are just building a DD, then I'd recommend you err on the side of caution. That's what I did with my engine: USDM ITR spec piston, 81.25mm bore, stock 3 layer gasket in an otherwise B18C1 engine (approx 10.8:1). With CTR cams, it dyno'd at 165. Not bad. If you've got a tunable ECU, a good tune (emphasis on good) can accommodate a higher CR.
