Stripped lug.....Help
So. a couple of months ago when I was having my steelies put on for the winter. The dude at the tire shop cross threaded one of my lug nuts, at the same time he stripped the stud. Now can't get my wheel off. Any suggestions? Help!

The stud spins?!? So even if you did get a grip on the lug nut it won't do a damn thing if you turn it? If so, yeah you do have to get that stud cut off and a new one put in. But if it would turn if you get a grip on the lug, there is a thing they sell at sears, I'll find it for you and post a link/picture. If I were you I would make the shop pay for eveything though.

basically as far as my knowlege goes, your going to have to drill it out.
if the stud is somehow spinning, your not going to be able to get the lug off.
i wonder how that happend.

if its possible, TIGHTEN the lug with a POWERFUL impact gun, it should tourque it enough to snap it off. If all else fails....

Spray on a lot of penetrating fluid, take a lug wrench and turn while holding it at an angle so the wheel stud jams against the wheel. It worked for me...
