Default Is it worth it?? B16A2 96-98 200$$??? (Don't mean to post is it worth it)

Ok soo I just got a call from a buddy that lives in Chicago. Right now I've been looking for a b16 and I have a 95 EG ex. It has no Transmission and it burns oil. But I planned on puting internals in it so i could run more boost. So thats not a problem so far its a good deal becasue i want to put a GSR tranny on it.

The problem is that its from a 96-98si civic and i have a obd1 and its a obd2 i think please correct me if im wrong but how hard is that to convert them or will they just work and i need a new ecu. Another thing is will my mounts on my D16Z6 work for this b16a2 I don't no if it comes with mounts. And the axles I will buy anyways becasue i want to hook up and to hook up you need stronger axles.

I'm sorry i no that were not suppose to post is it worth it kinda posts but i need to know becasuse I'm going to drive 10 hours for this engine. Also for a swap of this kind with everything is like 2500$$ and I planned on doing internals so im looking at about 3500$$ with a full swap otherwise this is going to be about 2000$.

Is it worth it??

Appreciate it guys thx.

Derrick

A little OT, but there was no 96-98 Si (at least not in the US).

all B16A2's are OBD2, and equipped in U.S. cars. they were made in 96-97 (Del Sol VTEC) and 99-00 (Civic Si). JDM Honda engines don't have numbers at the end (ex. B16A2). they would just be stamped as B16A.

your z6 harness plugs directly in, u need integra shift linkage and integra motor mounts, i think you will need to run a jumper harness and a chipped p28

yeah I new the z6 harness went into the B16a2 obd1 but i wasent sure about the obd2 and as far as mounts go I didn't think they made b16 integras unless the ones they use for the rs,ls,gs would work for a b16a2 into a eg

yeah the mounts are interchangeable, i went from a jdm itr to a b16 in my car, i just swiched the mounts. i think the only mount we switched was the upper driver side mount. we had to use the itr mount on the b16

Ok thanks I appreciate the feedback. Ok I was looking at a write up on B series swaps into the EG here on honda-tech and it looks like the EG harness will work on a OBD2 b16a2. But the dizzy and something else wont work so could i use mine on the 1.6 b16a2, as in my dizzy etc...

Appreciate H-T keep it comin.

use your stock harness and repin the dizzy. you can use the stock p28 ecu get it chipped with b16 program. your car is obd1 then stay with obd1 save you a lot of time and headache. so how much of a good deal are you talking about for this motor less tranny and burn oil.

yeah thats what I was thinking **** I don't know why couldnt it just be a damn JDM OBD1 well lets see...

Engine:200$
Transmission$800
Axles$300
Mounts: 50$ junkyard that is if it doesnt come with them.
New Rebuilt engine(Forged):1000$
MiSC. 400$

Total:around $3000 VS. 2500$ plus 500-1000$ in Forged internals???
