I'm swapping a B18C5 head onto my B16A2 block. I was wondering what head gasket should I use? I was going to go with Cometic and use 81mm .030" gasket is this ok for my setup?

 

Yep that's fine since the B18c5 head is exactly the same head as the B16a2 head with only some slight porting and different cams etc.

The oem headgasket is .026 thick so a gasket that is .004 thicker would have a negligable effect on the compression ratio.

 

the BSR head on the B16 block should raise the compression a little bit i think

 

Just use an OEM VTEC headgasket.

He's using a Type R head not a GSR head.....same compression as B16 head.

 

Does Cometic make custom head gaskets? Could they make .026 Multi layer steel gasket?

 

They make all kinds of custom sized head gaskets (thickness) but realistically why don't you just use a stock B16a2 head gasket and get the .026 that way?

 

I probably should do it that way, but are the b16a2 head gaskets strong enough to hold lets say a 55 shot of nitrous?

 

Nothing wrong with the oem gasket.Lots of big hp engines out there using them.

Hell ya....I'm running a 75hp shot on one now and know lots of other people running a lot more nitrous and boost on a stock headgasket without problem. A 55 shot is nothing...
