bought a suposed m2f4 but theres no tag on it ...im going to be tearing it down to fix the 5th gear grind and aside from counting teeth and getting the gear ratio is there antoher wat to tell what tranny i have ...mabye serial number somewhere that cab shed some light ...want to make sure i have the right tranny

if it doesn't have the label, then count teeth or put it in different gears and count revolutions to measure gear ratios.

Yea, or put it in different gears and count revolutions (similar to counting teeth but you don't have to take it apart).
