Default Skim/flow/porting for low to mid end power on B16 head

I searched for this topic but there wasn't any direct information regarding this. I am looking for more low to mid end power (as well as top end), upping compression slightly. What is a safe amount to skim off the b16a2 head? I will be using an OEM head gasket..

Are there any port/polishing techniques that can be done to achieve more low - mid end power? And what is the difference between a 3 and 5 angle valve job?

You can safely mill alot off a honda head.Your compression ratio is the real question.Remember that milling material of the head or using a thinner gasket will change your cam timing also. This should be corrected with adjustable gears and a degree wheel. If you want positive results from porting have a professional do it.Simply making the ports larger in the wrong area will at the very least lose bottom and mid-range power. The stock valve seat diameter doesn't really leave enough room for a five angle vj.

Thanks.

So that is my question. What areas should you port and which areas should you not? Are there specific areas that will gain me more low to mid power/torque?

My ideas is that milling in general will gain me more compression, so increase power across the powerband.

I will be having a profressional engineer do it but he is not a Honda expert. Anything that i can tell him may help in my aim.

How much should i mill?
3 angle valve seats good for my application?
What kinda of hp increase can i realistically achieve between 2-6000rpms?
Will a Spoon head gasket really help in overall performance or should i stick with an OEM one?

Also, would it be worth boring the engine to say 1.8L? Do i need to upgrade m,y fuel injectors if i do this? What else is involved?

To acheive more low end and mid range power you will need to up the displacement of the motor. There are plenty of ways to acheive this.....Personally I would go with stroking instead of boring....but its your money to spend. Just remember that if you overbore you will have to size your pistons to match. Why go with a B16 if you are concerned about mid range power?

is there an any way u can just port ur head at home ? is there any spec u need to maintain on each valve hole, intake side, and exhaust side ? and the inlet of intake side and outlet of exhaust side does it have to be all perfect and all matched up ? wut measurement device do u use to keep em all perfect and even size ?

dont do it. most of your professional porters have spent time working on flow benches with honda heads. if you try and do it your self the outcome would most likely be very bad. you can ruin the head very easy.

find a porter and get a basic portjob.
