dynamic dampener on driver axle question
I just installed a b15b in my car and i also replaced the axles. the ones i took off the car had a dynamic dampener on the driver side axle, but the ones I got from autozone didn't have it. Its been a week since I finished my swap and just noticed that when not acceleration i.e. decelerating and cruise, I feel a shimmy coming from the front driver side. How important is the dynamic dampener and doesn't it prevent driveshaft vibration?
ya thats the original intent of the dampener but most if not all aftermarket replacements do not come with them. usualy it doesnt make one bit of difference weather it has it or not. but id think that if the damper was the problem that it would be noticable on accel. as well as deccel or coasting. id make sure that the axle nut is properly torqued and notched. might not be drive train though also. could be a susp. problem too. good luck
thanks. yeah on accelaration or braking its fine but as its cruising or engine braking something is shaking and making alot of noise. it almost sounds like something stuck in the tire but thats not it since any throttle or braking makes it go away.
holy ****, i figured it out. i was driving home from work today and was gonna get it up on jackstands to take a look but the clicking and wobbling got so bad that i had to pull over. i looked at the wheel when i got out and the damn lugnuts were about to come off!!!! Check your lugnuts ASAP if you are having these symptons.
