I NEED HELP! PLEASE....overheating..
my car keeps overheatin i changed the water pump and the car keeps doin the same .... the problem is water keeps buildin up pressure in the radiator and spillin threw the extra tank on the side can some one help me and let me know why its buildin pressure in my radiator???its a 1992 prelude and has a f22 motor single cam thanx
Be more specific............ When a motor reaches operating temp, pressure builds due to heat (heat expands), this is not abnormal. The pressure of the cooling system dictates the boiling piont of the coolant.
Has the cooling sytem ever been flushed? How many miles are on the car? what condition is it in? has any kind of cooling system maintenance been perfromed on the car?

the car has about 143k the car lasts about 3-4 days before over heating it doesnt have a hole in the radiator and the water/coolant seems to be gone liek over the days the pressure seems to be throwin it out some how i dont know how and its not that the motor gets too hot just the water gets out from the pressure and then i have to put more water the car is in good condition it got bought from honda about 2 years ago and im gonna change the thrmostat tomarrow

no, you would notice much more then that if the headgasket went.
thermostat would be first to check.
also you may have a crack and not know it. on my saturn back in the day i had a crack that would only upen up under load. the crack was so fine that until i had a friend stomp on the gas (once the car was hot) and looked at it we couldnt tell where it was at. the pressure opened the crack and spilt coolant. so when i was driving i was losing coolant, but when i stopped to check it nothing.
try it.

Id say replace the radiator cap if you havnt already. a warn cap builds less pressure letting coolant boil over. also less pressure in the raditor system causes you coolant to boil at a lower temp.
also you wouldnt notice a blown head gasket as much if it was putting pressure into your coolant system instead of coolant leaking into your combustion chamber. he could very well have a blown headgasket.

I tend to think it's the head gasket too, it sounds as if it's a small leak of pressure back into the cooling system and that would explain loss of coolant, if it was burning coolant you could tell by the White smoke you would put out of the exhaust. Get a compression & leak down test done that will give an indication if your losing compression and where your losing it.

You need to pressure test the cooling system to find out where the the coolant is leaking. Coolant does not just dissappear, and a faulty thermostat does not make coolant dissappear either.
once pressure is applied to the cooling system, look for a pressure drop, if any. A pressure drop indicates the head gasket needs to be replaced and would explain your coolant loss.
