Default help! pressure in rad hose

Hello... I'm new to the world of jap cars and have just bought a 1996 1.4 civic hatch.

I love the car but theres a few issues that I thought I'd research, there seems to be alot of pressure in the top rad hose, I've done a search and it seems to be to do with the head gasket or rad cap.

The temperature gauge stays in the middle and it doesn't seem to get realy hot and the car drives perfectly, theres no mixing in the oil/coolant so I'm hoping its not the HG.

I think an aftermarket rad cap (metal with jap stickers) has been fitted so maybe this is the cause, I havn't taken the car on a long run probably 20 miles at the most and havn't heard the fans kick in so maybe I'm worrying for nothing.

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers :D

pressure in the rad system is normal how much is the question. water under pressure has a higher boiling point.

is it pushing water out the rad cap?

theres a fair bit of pressure but its not balooning, pushing water out or popping any hoses off and as I said the temp gauge is fine, do you think I could be worrying over nothing ?
