Default is it OK to discard (mix) Used Man. Trans. Fluid with Used Motor Oil?

i'm about to change my axles and the only drain pan i have is the one i use when i change my motor oil.

would it be wise to drain my old MTF into the same container as my used motor oil and safely discard it at my local auto parts store??

TIA

Yeah, it's fine. Tranny fluid is basically the same as motor oil, with a few additives thrown in. They will recycle it all together.

What about mixing tranny fluid and motor oil in tranny will that be ok?

I dont know what the previous owner used to fill the tranny but I want to add a tad more oil to the tranny with Mobile 5w30 motor oil. What ya think?

D series can handle engine oil. But they are also a dime a dozzen so no biggy if it dies.

B series on the other hand dont like it at all and your syncs will get crunchy.

But why cheap out.You dont put diesel oil in your car. It will run on that but its better to have whats made for it.

And try not mix synthetic with mineral oil, it goes gunky once its been heated up and cooled a few times.
