Hesitation/jumping tach(searched)
car starts normally, and drives normally under 3000rpm. in any gear, when i hit about 3k the tach starts to jump around. if i give it more gas or take the rpm's higher the car starts to hesitate or what sounds kinda like misfiring.
i checked the plugs, cap and rotor... all looked clean. whats going bad?

Sounds like you got the dreaded h22 hesitation.
First id say check your timing and look for any possible vac leaks. This is some crazy problem that has been plaguing most of the h22 community. My car did it at one point as well. I double checked all my vac diagrams and re routed all of them.

I agree with PrettyLude sounds like what happened to me. The tach jumped all crazy but the rpms seemed normal then the car died and wouldnt start. Checked everything like you said replaced the ignitor and its fixed
im having teh same problem with my b16 right now and from what ive rear its teh ignitor. im going to take it out and tighen the connections a bit adn see if that helps.

yup, just happened to my h23. i replaced the whole dizzy with a re-manufactured one instead of just getting the ignitor. no problems since.
Re-manuf one cost me about $200.
