what up guys.....man im not sure wether to get a DC2 R or the DC5 i mean i kno alot about each car and im really interested in building a set up with a K20 but i also want the DC2 bc of tha jdm headlight conversion and just bc its a slick car and ive wanted one since ive started tuning like 3 years ago.....but 1 thing i dont like about the DC5 is that i cant get white without the tan interior.....i mean im not knocking it but to me tan just doesnt say fast.....or "R" and i only want i white one bc white is just the sexiest JDM color ever i mean i kno i would be happy with either car.....and i kno that which ever one i pick i kno im gonna be like man i kinda think i shoulda got tha other car nah mean? so im just stuck right now thinking and debating what do u guys think.......???

 

have you driven either one? you're only 17, so how much experience do you have driving and tuning cars? if you want white with black interior, buy a white and swap the interior. I could'nt understand much more of your post since there was no punctuation.

Bends i agree with everything you said. but.....its a LOT of work to swap out the interior. Only a few brave souls have tried it. I wish i had black too though.

Readin your post to me it seems like you already made up your mind. for you it seems like DC2 &gt; DC5. But yes drive both and out way the pros and cons of both. Both cars are a lot of money so make sure you put some thought into your decision.

 

yeah, it's a lot of work, but it seems like thats the only thing holding this guy back from getting it. and i'm pretty sure his parents are at least helping with payments. unless he has some other source of 20,000+ dollars at 17. so he could save his own cash for it.

Im in the process of swapping out my tan for black now. Doing the rear was a breeze. It's that damn dashboard, and lining up the floor carpet thats takes up all of the time.

i had the same problem...i ended up going with the DC5...then i had the problem of choosing the color hehe. I was gonna go with white but found out it didnt come with black interior...narrowed it down to blue or silver..went with silver. I really wanted a dc2 because the JDM conversion is sexy as hell but I went with the dc5 because it looked newer and it comes with a k20.

 

This post appears to be a waste of time...........but then again here I am responding.

If you want something that feels like a race car out of the box go with the dc2, if you want something more refined go with the dc5.

 

ok my fault for no puncuation i was kind of in a rush. But i did think about buying a silver one and painting it CW and i did think about buying a white one and changing the interior, but ive heard that it was a bitch with all the wiring and what not....and wiring isnt my forte`. ive driven both cars and like both. I want the DC2 for a number of reasons....reving to 10k is good, the JDM headlight conversion is nasty, and the suspension is great. But on the other hand the DC5 has a little bit more power, its a newer car, the suspension is not that of the R but its not bad and it is more refined.

As for buying the car, im doing that myself....dont really have parents to support me. so between finishing high school and tuning, i work. its just me and my mom but she is busy with work so im kinda on my own i was going to get her to sign for me but ill be 18 in 2 weeks so i can take care of that.......so thats not the problem i just need to figure out which one i want. im gonna ask the guys on the type R forum to see what they think.....but thanx for all the replys and critisism i guess

wow...how did you build credit up that quick? it takes damn good credit for an 18 year-old to be the only signer on a new $20,000 car.

 

swapping the interior isnt all that bad, I've had pretty much every peice out of my car minus the dash, and the dash is obviously going to be the hard part. I'd say with some help he could get it done in a decent amount of time.

Or, you could just drive to canada and get a PWP with ebony interior

Also...if she's cosigning with you, your not doing it on your own, just in case you didnt understand the concept of doing it on your own...whats funny is, you being in high school, i KNOW you dont have an income to support the payment of a brand new car, so im curious, are you trying to put yourself in a financial fix?

Maybe one thing you should consider is insurance rates. If your on your own (pretty much) and goin to school its gonna be real tough. Having to finance most of the car and being a young driver and being male and if your the sole policy owner, then sorry to say but the insurance rates will own you. Expect to pay close to your car payment. lets say your payment is 400, insurance lets be nice and say 250, then gas, etc. Think about whether you wanna spand nearly all (im assuming) of your income on something that will only take you to work and school, cause you wont have time or money for anything else. Ive seen a lota kids get caught up in an endless cycle because they wanted a nice car when they were young.

Dont miss out, nice cars will always be there. Later in life it will only be easier to actually enjoy them.

well thanx everyone for the posts....but there is more to my situation. i just didnt explain the whole thing b/c i wasnt trying to type forever. i just asked the simple question of getting a DC5 or a DC2, but i got like a whole seminar on credit and financing and ****. i mean i appreciate everything but i have the money to pay for the car. so i guess some of this stuff doesnt apply but its c0ol thanx anyway i'll have pics for which ever car i get, until then.......

I wont hold my breath, you'll be asking what kind of car to get in like 2 months again anyways...if you have enough money to spend cash on either of those cars, your a fool if you did so. And i know for sure you wont be financing it alone...so you'll be using mom's cosigning to get the car...but without credit i doubt you'll get a good rate and i dunno, i dont really care what your situation is, but its funny when you kids come in here talking about how your going to get such and such car...when you have no credit history, your income could not be providing you with enough cash to just up and BUY a car like this straight up (unless of coures you had some kind of inheritance, in which case i doubt youd be asking the questions, youd have just come in here after buying one of them)...
