My friend bought an Integra 98 and he has no clue whether it's a gs/ls or a gs-r

What features distinguish an LS/GS from a GS-R?
Is there suppose to be "VTEC" on the valve cover or something?

GSR is vtec, the valve cover says vtec, in back of the car their is a dohc vtec emblem, and also gsr's don't have a 3rd brakelight inside the car its on the wing... gsr's reline at 8100 rpm, and have the vin number dc2, ls n gs haver dc4...

 

Look at the block stamp to see what the engine is...



It should say B18C1 for USDM GSR, B18B for LS/ GS...Mine says B18C for a JDM Type R engine.



For the chassis, honda011 is correct

 

if you looked down on THE SAME PAGE at "question about type of integra" you would have found all your answers

WOW wait a sec.... my car has the third brake light on the wing... well when it had a wing.. was this a feature on SE's also or summin?

 

yeah theirs a 3rd brakelight on the wing......

 

how do you buy a car w/o knowing what trim level it is?

 

Try Carfax, you should be able to get some info there.

My GS obviously had its spoiler replaced cause I have a light in it and no brake light in the back window... so you never know the person who owned it before may have switched some stuff up!!
