Default Boost Controller issues. Causes spikes, but settles to wastegate rating.

As the topic states, I bought this boost controller used from impound on this board, and it's been giving me nothing but problems. Instead of raising boost all the way through the rpm band, it causes a spike to its own setting. For example, I got the boost controller set to 10psi, my wastegate is at 7psi. It spools as it should up to 10psi at about 4k, but almost immediatley drops down to 7psi and stays there untill I shift.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

did it spike at all before you put the mbc on?

if not, try adjusting the mbc a little higher and just mess around with it some, where are your vacuum lines coming from (manifold?)

That looks like the Turbonetics MBC. I installed one on my friends Talon TSi and we had nothing but headaches with it. He was getting insane spiking with it, so we ditched it.
