What would be a Realistic goal on Turboing a stock b18b motor for daily driving?
What would be a Realistic goal on Turboing a stock b18b motor , As fare as how much hp to shoot for and still having a reliable street driven 93 hatch.
thanks....

mmmmmm I can't agree.....A tuner once told me (in person), hp goals are great and all, but if you push the enigne to that goal say really push a lot of boost to get to it, thats not good. You keep turning up the boost until you have to really start cranking it to make more power. For some b18b's it's going to be 240whp and others it'll be 290whp. Ask your tuner when he thinks you are making "good" power and call it a day. Also, remember reliability is all in the tune/driving style/maintence!

buddy of mine has a 99 integra ls. drag kit with rc 550cc injectors and uberdata. turboed it back in June I believe. been running 11psi daily . drives about 60-75miles per day. we're still waitin to see when it'll blow up haha..., still runs strong with no issues.

Totally agree.. take what the motor will give you on the dyno, and then dial in down a notch. And that is going to be your safest route. Only push the motor to the limits on ocassions, but most of the time it is going to be a daily driver, so why risk it. If I could turn my wastegate down past 10 I would.. but I can't so I set my boost cut below it

ok thanks its a faily new motor its a 2000 with 50k. But yea good point! im not just going to bring my car in to the shop and say give me 300whp.... im just going to let them do what they have do.. and see what happpins .
- wounding if u recommed a boost controler ? and get a spring on my wastgate that is low psi soo when im driven to work i wont put as mcuh stress on the engine and when i feel like speed trun it up to what ever it was tuned at? is this a good idea thank you...

One of the most important variables you have to consider is driving style (and 1000s of other ones). If you're boosting all of the time, you're asking for trouble. Just because your engine is good for 300 whp doesn't mean you have to call on it all the time. Good luck with your setup

my stock b18b lasted 2 years on 300 whp...had perfect compression until the day it got stolen
so im not sure how long it would have lasted, but with good tuning, it will last awhile

I bet you he's no more then 14 psi. Porlly lwoer then 11psi. 20psi is jsut a number. You don't need 20psi on every turbo hodna to get 300whp
